The former UFC welterweight title contender Darren Till since moving up to the UFC’s middleweight division has gained a lot of momentum by defeating top ranked contender Kelvin Gastelum. However, his more interesting and rather entertaining battles are happening outside the octagon over on Twitter against noted MMA and combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani of ESPN. Till after a light banter with Helwani absolutely went after the journalist on social media in a thread of multiple tweets dissing the journalist in some what of a mystery beef.

Till has a professional MMA record of 18-2-1. He was previously undefeated in his career but then suffered two brutal consecutive knockout defeats to the then UFC welterweight champion Tyron The Chosen One Woodley in a title fight and then lost another bout in a brutal KO to the UFC’s popular fan favourite BMF champion Jorge The Street Jesus Masvidal. He has faced issues in cutting weight almost through his UFC career and after struggling even more so in his recent fights which also arguably affected his performance his his defeats at the hands of Woodley and Masvidal, Till finally decided to move up in weight to middleweight.

Till defeated Gastelum at UFC 244 in November last year via a razor close split decision. He was then all set to face the former and recently dethroned middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC Dublin in August this year. However, due to the ongoing global Corona virus pandemic, it is likely that the UFC’s fighting calendar will be affected and the fight card will be postponed and moved to a later date.

Till took too Twitter and called out Helwani, he then called Ariel a ‘dirty rat’ in his reply to a fan. Here’s what he said in his initial tweet against Helwani:

The tough guy act is over. The Darren Till act is now. MMA needs this. Getting offended is over rated. You feelings bitch. Ariel Helwani you are a bitch.
