British heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora needs to make his MMA debut because of his bout with Oleksander Usyk being postponed till a later date.

Chisora (32-9, 23 KOs) was set to fulfill the undefeated former cruiserweight champion Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs) at a London card on Could 23rd that was cancelled as a result of coronavirus. With the battle awaiting a brand new date, Chisora informed BBC Sport that he needs to slot in a battle for Bellator earlier than stepping within the ring to face Usyk.

“We are attempting to type dates for June or July,” Chisora stated. “I see others do it and say ‘I wish to attempt it someday’. Since Usyk has been postponed for some time, then if there’s a means I can do this in the interim.

“We’re ready to see the date they provide us for Usyk but when there’s a much bigger hole we’re going to leap in to Bellator right away.”

Regardless of his curiosity within the crossover, Chisora has no MMA expertise below his belt. The 26-year-old has been knowledgeable boxer since 2007.

A former opponent of his, Dillian Whyte, not too long ago made headlines as UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou was involved in a boxing battle with “The Bodysnatcher.”
