Holly Holm is back on track after beating Irene Aldana on Saturday in the UFC on ESPN 16 main event.
Holm (14-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC), a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, bounced back from a title-fight loss to Amanda Nunes in December with a unanimous decision win over Aldana (12-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC) in the headlining matchup, which took place at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Aldana really chasing that outside-foot angle but it’s making her movement predictable and Holm is picking up on it…

Aldana able to mark up Holm’s eye to her credit, but she’ll need to be more patient if she means to draw out Holm and counter efficiently. 10-9 Holm. #UFCFightIsland4

Nice left hand backs up Aldana and puts her off balance momentarily. Aldana’s right eye is beginning to swell. #UFCFightIsland4

Holm looking very crisp here. Physically she’s a better athlete! She looks great out there. #UFCFightIsland4

No surprise, very smart game plan from Holly Holm so far. Really has Irene Aldana guessing on the feet in the second round, and just scores her best takedown of the fight. Very clearly a step ahead here.

This fight hasn’t been close. Aldana just chasing, running into combinations.

Both corners have done an excellent job with the endswell to reduce the swelling around their fighters’ eyes. #UFCFightIsland4

I’m really surprised at the lack of a cut off attempt, and the steady chasing… and now she’s on her back. #UFCFightIsland4

Holly sending Aldana to hell. Blowout.
— Fight Ghost (@Fight_Ghost) October 4, 2020
Dare I say, Holm hasn’t looked this good since the Rousey win. This is very impressive.

Wow holly looks really good everywhere tonight!!

I see no adjustments made by Aldana, and her corner isn’t exactly giving her a lot to work with, either. #UFCFightIsland

This has been an outstanding performance from Holly Holm – well ahead after three rounds against Irene Aldana

Holm is -74963 on live betting, going into round 4. The comeback is only 900 and change. WTF?!#UFCFightIsland4
— Gorgeous George (@MMAjunkieGeorge) October 4, 2020
Holly Holm has checked Irene Aldana for three rounds. Clinical and dominant from the former UFC bantamweight champ. Up. Down. Transitions. Wrestling. Aldana needs to find something that works. Her corner told her straight: Down on the cards and you gotta push.

Holly’s lead leg side kick is amazing!

A reminder:
Holly Hom turns 39 in 13 days and this is her 60th pro fight (boxing + MMA + kickboxing).
Remarkable.

This is like a dog circling to catch its tail.
No change of direction.
No cutting off the octagon.
No feints or leg kicks to slow down movement.
No disrespect, but where’s the cornering advice? Can’t do the same thing for 20min and expect different results. #UFCFightIsland4— Aljamain Sterling (@funkmasterMMA) October 4, 2020
Has Aldana EVER HEARD OF GOING RIGHT??? WHO THE HELL IS HER BOXING COACH. THIS IS EMBARRASSING
— Sean McCorkle (@BigSexyMcCorkle) October 4, 2020
Aldana is definitely going to raise her hands after this
— caposa (@Grabaka_Hitman) October 4, 2020
Irene Aldana is following Holly as opposed to cutting her off.

Holly was on woman on a mission tonight who’s her conditioning coach
— Belal Muhammad (@bullyb170) October 4, 2020
Holly Holm just won’t go away, and it’s frustrating. She’s not good enough to beat the best, but she’s still good enough to beat the up-and-comers.
Frustrating. #UFCFightIsland4

Holly looked great tonight. I think that’s the Most aggressive she’s ever been in her Mma career so far.
