Rachael Ostovich vs PVZ back on for first ESPN + card in January
Rachael Ostovich will now face fellow strawweight contender Paige VanZant at UFC Fight Night 143 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on 19th January. She was recently attacked by her husband Arnold Berdon in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She had suffered a broken orbital bone, according to a report from TMZ. The 27-year-old flyweight is currently hospitalized for major injuries, including a broken orbital bone. Arnold Berdon was arrested this Tuesday on a charge of attempted murder which was later changed to a second-degree assault charge.
ESPN was first to report that the Ostovich vs. VanZant fight was back on the card.
“Rachael went for a follow-up today and due to the position of the injury and how it’s healing, the doctors have cleared her and she will be more than healed up in time for this fight,” Osotovich’s manager Brian Butler-Au of SuckerPunch Entertainment told MMA Fighting. “She had her eyes and heart set on this fight and never wanted to pull out of it.”
Paige VanZant took to Twitter to announce that she will be fighting Ostovich and showed her support towards her.
